    All I can say is WOW! These were spot on!

    The Burger King Whopper

    Instructions For 1 burger...

    Things You'll Need:

    * Barbecue Grill
    * Sesame seed hamburger bun
    * 1/4 lb. ground beef patty
    * 2 dill pickle slices
    * 4 rings of sliced onion
    * 2 tomato slices
    * Chopped lettuce
    * Mayonnaise
    * Ketchup
    * Dash of Lawry's seasoning salt or McCormick's Season All

    Step 1...
    Heat your barbecue grill...with a medium flame.

    Step 2...
    Gently massage your seasoning salt into the ground beef or ground beef patty. Flatten the ground beef into a flat and wide patty if it isn't already pre-pattied.

    Step 3...
    Cook your hamburger until it's to your liking. Lightly toast both halves of the bun on your grill.

    Step 4...
    Spread your mayonnaise and ketchup on both sides of the bun. Stack it: bottom bun, burger patty, pickles, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and finally, the top bun.

    NOTE:
    If you like cheese on your whopper add a slice of processed American cheese on top of the burger patty and proceed with the rest of the toppings.

      New and this would only let me reply not comment, don't know why unless because I am new. I used to work at Burger King many more years ago than I want to tell. Your recipe for Wopper-a-like is pretty close but not quite. The actual recipe we were instructed to use calls for :
      Meat (only 100% beef) grilled through but not over-cooked - no pink but also no burnt bits, the patty should be slightly pink but grey to cooked pretty much immediately if you break it right as it leaves the gas fired grill chain. That big machine you see the burgers come out of in the kitchen is just like your gas fired home grill, only difference is the burgers move over the flame on a chain driven grill and are never flipped over. They use only plain old table salt on your burgers, and not much of it, after it is cooked and on top side only.

      One other comment, I don't think they used cheap ground beef such as you get in the grocery as I think it would have shrunk more. The patties I'll grant are mushed out fairly thin to cover those big buns, but the burgers weren't a huge lot smaller after cooking.

      Place your beef on the bun and top by cheese, I think they got two slices back then because we used the same size slice for the smaller burgers, but the idea is really just to cover the burger. Back then we used real cheddar, not cheese product or whatever that stuff is the grocery sells in cardboard boxes. Because the burgers usually kept warm briefly before use (no more than 8 minutes in the steamer was the rule when I worked there) you will see them microwave to melt cheese. Not necessary if burger is good and hot.

      Mustard and Ketchup - a little over a teaspoon each placed on the meat side
      4 dill pickle slices, also on meat
      Mayo spread over top bun only, and topped by lettuce, onion, 2 tomato slices

      Wow, I didn't know at one time Burger King may have used real cheese. I thought it had always been processed cheese.
