Question What Would Be A Good Side-Dish?

With BLT's or sandwiches in general?

I am always at a loss as to what to make when I serve sandwiches. Tonight we are going to have BLT's and take advantage of the fresh local tomatoes before they are all gone.

    Got any suggestions?

The only thing that comes to my mind of hand is soup, sliced tomatoes, chips and pickles. That's what I think of when I think sandwiches. Soup is great if the weather is cool or cold, but not when it is hot. At least not for me. How about a salad, green salad or fruit salad?

I originally wanted to make a pot of chili with cornbread but hubby said it is too warm today for that. We always do chips too ~ even though that is a consideration at this point

In restaurants quite often they serve french fries with sandwiches. Personally I don't do fries at home, too messy, unless of course you bake them in the oven.
Fresh veggies with a dip ??

    fruit salad.
    cole slaw.
pasta salad ( a cold one)
    potato salad
frog eyed salad (my kids favorite)
    poblano soup
broccoli salad (broccoli, cauliflower, grape tomatoes, a little purple onion, grated cheese, and a dressing of miracle whip, ( NOT mayo in this one ) sugar and a little milk to thin it out )
    toss about and chill.

if you have left over broccoli rice sasserole
E Coli spinach salad. a favorite by many ( ok I'm kidding on the E Coli part but popeyes spinish salad, with spinach and strawberries is really good )

that's it I am out of ideas you've drained me

I'm with Sabine, I think a good cheese potato soup would be a good choice.

The best thing with a BLT is a chocolate malt, in my opinion! I vote for french fries.

tomato, cucumber and onion salad with a vinegrette dressing, add some feta cheese and black olives and you have a nice salad. How about some fresh corn on the cob too??
