Exclamation People Sick after eating at Olive Garden

    Just read this:

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (CNN) -- -- About 300 people have reported becoming sick after eating at an Olive Garden restaurant in northeast Indianapolis, a spokesman for the Marion County Health Department told CNN on Friday.

The customers became ill after eating at the restaurant between Saturday and Wednesday, said John Althardt. They have reported nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and, in some cases, fever, and three have been hospitalized, he said.

Althardt said the health department hopes to start testing -- as early as Friday afternoon -- stool samples of the sick and leftovers that restaurant patrons took home. Results may be available in about 48 hours.

Steve Coe, director of media relations for Olive Garden, said in a written statement that the company is "working closely with the local health department ... and will temporarily close the restaurant to give the health department a better opportunity to investigate this matter that may be tied to employees that recently had flu-like symptoms."

"This is an isolated incident," he said. "There have been no related incidents reported at any other Olive Garden in the market or elsewhere."

I just came back from eating at Olive Garden. We live in Az. so I feel fine and guess we are OK. I read the same thing too. I'll tell DH tomorrow about it, if I say anything he may feel sick (mental). Last week it was the Taco Bell. They said Taco Bell it was the green onions, I am at the point that I am afraid to buy lettuce, green onions etc... I wash everything when I get home but still I feel that is not enough. Don't know what caused the Olive Garden but it is getting scary buying fresh vegetables anymore. I don't know what is safe anymore.

Just ridiculous we cant even have peace of mind about the food we eat at restaraunts or bring home from the grocery store.

I heard taco bell isolated the prob to the lettuce, at first they thought onions but after studies with some sick who ordered w/no onions it was said to be in the lettuce. just think of all the bagged salad incidents and then spinach ...WTH?

Pre-packaged lettuce/spinach does seem to be something that can cause problems. Remember this summer when all of the pre-packaged spinach was removed from the shelves?

Yes and also Dole pre packaged salads. I now only buy heads of lettuce and clean them in my sink, makes me feel better. but truthfully we loved the ease of the ready to eat bagged salads.

Yep it's right around the corner from my old job, and my cousins Now job. I ate there before. On the news here they're saying that a few of the employees have had the flu, and thats what they think it was.
I'm out of bed, and dressed what more do you want?
