    Default Can Bisquick go bad?

I tried the Cheddar Biscuit recipe last night. The flavor seemed right, but the consistency of the biscuits was, just, yuck. Not light and fluffy at all. I tossed the whole batch. Same thing with that Beer Bread I tried last week. Both were made with Bisquick. I'm wondering if maybe the Bisquick is too old...

If you keep it long enough it sure can. Once it's open it's best to put it in an airtight container, the same way you should do with flour / sugar.

    Sorry about your biscuits!

Bisquik/Jiffy baking mix definitely go bad...Baking powder has an expiration date...holds true in the mixes too!

Definately. The fat in bisquick can go rancid.

I just checked the box of Bisquick that I have in my pantry and there is a "best if used by " date on the box. On top where you open it. The date on my box says use by Feb 07, so I better replace that box next time I go to the store. Gald I checked.

I'm askeered to look at mine. I moved into the apartment two years ago, so I know it's at least that old. *shudders*

I think everything can go bad after awhile. I made popcorn a couple of years ago that was here for awhile and it tasted stale.

I keep mine in the freezer and also my flour and cornmeal so they don't get bugs in them .
