    Smile February 25th Dinner Post

    Good Morning!

A very cold, snowy and windy morning here. We got about 3-4 inches last night and it is snowing now. Winter is still here. MWG is having fun I see. HE has the fireplace!!!

I am thinking I will pull some chili out of the freezer, put it in the Nesco and make the house smell good and I do not work. Some cornbread and reheated baked apples will finish the meal.

    What will you be having?
Heritic, rebel, a thing to flount,
He drew a circle that shut me out.
But love and I had the wit to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.

I think I'll be at your house for dinner - I LOVE chili! I've been really good this week and have cooked several days in a row so I don't feel guilty not fixing a big dinner since I am going to a baby shower and won't be hungry. We have enough leftovers so DH won't starve!

We had chili yesterday. I was thinking of making something with the leftover chili but didn't know what to do with it. I am not in the mood for chili dogs. Fridays we tend to get a lot of "stop in" guests so I always plan accordingly but last night we only had one and he gave up meat for lent.

Anyways, I am making angel chicken pasta in the crockpot and fresh garlic bread. I have some garlic butter I need to use up.

Dazeek2, have you ever had chili omelettes? We love those, and it's a different way to use up chili.

It sure felt nice to sleep in this morning! No big plans for the day yet, but I think my mother and I are going out for lunch and then we're going to visit a couple of used book stores to fill in the series we're reading right now.

Ken and I are going out for dinner tonight, and he even suggested going to Bombay Tandoori in Torrance! YES!!!! Love that place. He'll probably have Shrimp Masala and I'm probably going to have Lamb Shahi Korma. We'll have basmati rice, vegetable samosas and garlic naan bread. YUMMMMMM!!!

I found a pound of tiny bay scallops in the freezer and this recipe for po boys from Martha Stewart. I also have really GOOD gluten free hot dog buns in the freezer...which is a huge deal cause most are gross! I'm so psyched, I haven't even thought of a side dish... so it'll be a salad. Doncha LOVE it when you have all the stuff for a recipe??
