Default Junior Prom dinner ideas needed

    Hi all,
I am hosting a dinner for some kids before thier Junior Prom. They have asked for food that will not stain thier expensive dresses and suits. I am a BBQ cook but they said NO ribs (can you believe that?) to stain thier dresses! Would anyone have some good s***estions for me?
    Thanks

Is this going to be a sit down dinner or a buffet? Or are you looking for finger foods?

It will only be about 15 kids, not a huge crowd. When I ask them what they would like, they just say "I don't know".

How about a salad, grilled chicken or steak, baked potato and another veggie, rolls and a dessert.

I would give them a grown up meal like this one.

In talking with my daughter, I think we will use a lot of your ideas and go with:
    Maddox Turkey Steaks
    Mashed or baked potatoes
    Veggies steamed w/ chicken stock
    Italian pasta salad
    Green lettuce salad
    Ranch dressing
    Turkey gravy
    Hot buttered rolls
Spiral tortilla rollups w/ ham and turkey

Dessert is Turtle Pie (the kind w/ whipped cream, caramel, chocolate, nuts)

Drink: raspberry cream soda mixed with raspberry sherbet

Thank you all for your great ideas!

I'm sorry....I missed the point. I was thinking that you were looking for finger type food for before the prom.

Why not hire some local college kids to be waitor/waitress or a local service person?

Make it a formal event and serve the dinner courses. You could have:

    a salad/with choice of dressing
shrimp cocktail (2 cooked shrimp with cocktail sauce)
soup (a small bowl of cream of chicken)
Entree of a small steak with baked potato
Vegetable of the day (brocoli, green beans, corn, carrots, peas ~ what ever you decide to serve)
Dessert - a small cheese cake tart in a cupcake paper. (vanilla wafer, cheesecake mix and topping of your choice)

You can print up the forma menu, and serve it with table cloth, cloth napkins and nice plates.
