This is supposed to taste like McDonalds. I have not tried it. Got a lot of great reviews.

"This is my version of sausage gravy...the best! Pour over hot biscuits (I use store bought.) Very fattening and good! Follow these directions and you won't be disappointed!"
    INGREDIENTS:
1 (12 ounce) package maple (or regular or spicey, maple may be too sweet)
    flavored sausage
    3 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    3 cups whole milk
    salt and pepper to taste

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. Place sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Remove sausage with a slotted spoon, leaving the drippings in the pan. Stir in the butter until melted. Add flour, and stir until smooth. Reduce heat to medium, and cook until light brown. Gradually whisk in milk, and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper, and stir in cooked sausage. Reduce heat, and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes. If gravy becomes too thick, stir in a little more milk.

    Thumbs up

here is one that is T&T by me and some of the people on this board.

    Sausage Gravy
1 lb sage-flavored bulk pork sausage
    2 Tbsp finely chopped onion
    6 Tbsp all-purpose flour
    1 qt milk
    1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
    1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
    1/4 tsp salt
1 Pillsbury Grand Biscuits (bake according to directions on can, cool & slice)

Crumble sausage into a large saucepan; cook over medium-low heat
Add onion, cook & stir until transparent
Drain, discarding all but 2 Tbsp of drippings
Stir in flour, cook over medium-low heat about 6 minutes or until mixture bubbles and turns light brown
    Stir in milk, add seasonings
    Cook, stirring until thickened
To serve, put on top of sliced biscuits
    Guts

    Unhappy Not McDonalds Sausage Gravy

My mother desperately loves Mc Donalds sausage gravy. We cannot find out the ingredients or maybe it is a certain brand of sausage. Does anyone know this? This would make a great Christmas gift if I could make it for her. Though the ones listed here are good. They do not taste like Mc Donalds. She thinks it might have red pepper??? Help us!!!! Please!!!

Try the "Hot" sausage from Jimmy Deans. That may help.

Walmart has a spicy sausage in their frozen section and they look like the size mcdonalds has.Might be worth a try. They also have 2 more flavors.

I realize that a lot of you like McDonalds’ gravy but to me it taste just like liver. If you ever had Braunschweiger you will know what I mean. It would not suprise me to find out that Mcdonalds uses every part of the hog in their low cost sausage! Be careful what you eat!
