I still haven't found Dunkin Donuts recipe on the Internet. Here is one recipe I found that the reviews said is close to the Starbucks/Dunkin Donuts taste (adjusting milk/creamer to make it creamier).

    Chai Tea Mix

    Yields: 36 servings

"A dry mix for instant Chai tea that you can keep on hand for those frequent Chai tea emergencies. It's also a popular gift."

    INGREDIENTS:
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
    1 cup powdered non-dairy
    creamer
    1 cup French vanilla flavored
    powdered non-dairy creamer
    2 1/2 cups white sugar 1 1/2 cups unsweetened
    instant tea
    2 teaspoons ground ginger
    2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 teaspoon ground cardamom

    DIRECTIONS:
    1. In a large bowl, combine milk powder, non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavored creamer, sugar and instant tea. Stir in ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. In a blender or food processor, blend 1 cup at a time, until mixture is the consistency of fine powder.
    2. To serve: Stir 2 heaping tablespoons Chai tea mixture into a mug of hot water.

    Thank you Dewey,
I have tried this one and think it's the one that does come closest. But it still seems to be missing something. Not really close to DD, this one is more like the starbucks.
The last batch I tried made a QT size chinese tupperware container full...so I'll have it for a while.
I think maybe I'll work with the basics and try to play with it or tweek it.
    Thanks

Now you did it.....I've been craving Chai Tea for several weeks. I should make my own mix instead of buying it.

I use to work at Dunkin Donuts and I LOVE their Chai Tea. Everytime I had a sore throat I would drink that like water. I can't really say what the ingredients are because it simply came in a powdered package. They simply add the powered mix to a machine and it gets blended with hot water to make it.
I know I've tried other chai teas but nothing compares to DD's. I think I'm gonna go get some tomorrow when I wake up. I'm dying for some right now because my throat hurts.
Sorry this doesn't really help, but thats how they make it.

I just found out about cardamon. There is black and green cardamon. The green cardamon is the one that you use for tea. I crack it with a hammer and add it to the hot water. It does add good flavor. I was at an India (Pakastan) store and in the tea section they have Tetley Tea in small boxes (10 bags) for .49 a box. They come in flavors- ginger, Masala and Elaichi. I have tried the one that is Tetley Elaichi. It taste just like Chia-I made it with water and milk and added some honey. Very good.

Deweydecimal, you give me a chuckle with your detective work on the ingredients...lol!
Ladies, have you thought about using 3/4 cup of powdered milk and 1 package vanilla pudding in your mix instead of just the 1 cup powdered milk?
I have made the coffees before and they call for instant pudding mix in them.
Maybe that will give the tea a creamier taste. Or just stir in some half and half after the boiling water?
Have you made time to listen to the birds today........
