Thread: spicy hot nuts

I saw a recipe on food network channell for nuts something about they put them in the oven and then mixed them in a mixture but I can not remember what the mixture was I know it was roasted with rosemary and I think it had butter and don't remember what the rest was.

Mixed Nuts with Rosemary

Ingredients

* 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
* 1 tablespoon dried crumbled rosemary
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 1/2 teaspoon cayenne, or to taste
* 3 cups mixed nuts (pecans, cashews, and hazelnuts)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Melt butter with dried rosemary, salt, and cayenne. Pour this mixture over 3 cups mixed nuts, tossing to coat them. Bake the nuts on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Ingredients

* 1 1/4 pounds cashew nuts
* 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
* 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
* 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
* 2 teaspoons kosher salt
* 1 tablespoon melted butter

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Place the nuts on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until they are warmed through. Meanwhile, combine the rosemary, pepper, sugar, salt and butter in a large bowl. Toss the warm nuts with the rosemary mixture until the nuts are completely coated. Serve warm.

Nutcracker Cones

Ingredients

* 4 cups mixed, raw unsalted nuts
* 4 tablespoon unsalted butter
* 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
* Brown sugar, to taste
* 1/4 cup fresh rosemary, leaves, plus more for garnish
* 2 lemons, zested
* Maldon sea salt or fleur de sel

Directions

Toast nuts on sheet pan for 10 minutes in a preheated 350 degrees F oven.

Melt butter with cayenne, sugar and rosemary. Put toasted nuts in large saute pan, add butter mixture, lemon zest, salt and stir over medium heat until thoroughly mixed and butter cooks away. Adjust seasoning, as needed. Serve in paper cones with fresh rosemary garnish.

Ingredients

* 2 1/4 cups (18-ounces) assorted unsalted nuts, including peeled peanuts, cashews, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans and whole unpeeled almonds
* 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
* 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
* 2 teaspoons dark brown sugar
* 2 teaspoons Maldon or other sea salt
* 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Toss the nuts in a large bowl to combine and spread them out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until light golden brown, about 10 minutes.

In a large bowl, combine the rosemary, cayenne, sugar, salt and melted butter.

Thoroughly toss the toasted nuts in the spiced butter and serve warm. And once you eat these, you will never want to stop.
