I just bought a kirby vacuum cleaner. Does anyone know if you have to use the kirby foam carpet cleaner in it or can you use another brand or a liquid brand.

Why is it you still need to use another brand of foam carpet cleaner? You just use kirby vacuum cleaner. That is why it is better if you used its foam also.

Midwest don't you just love the bissell? I have carpets about 6yrs old and they are great. Got an elderly cat that has a few problems and I just do the traffic areas and they look great. DD's b/f borrowed the old one and it was so old and told him to keep it and got a good deal with amazon and love my new bissell steam cleaner. Got all the special features and just love it. If Stanley Steamer came it would cost me around $150 and got it for $200 and use it every 3 months and never have to have a carpet cleaner to come in. That and my Dyson vaculm is wonderful. I am a bi**h with my carpets that are beige. I hate to see any stains on the carpets.

NO, you have to use the kirby cleaner. It is different from other carpet soaps in the way it foams up on top of the carpet, instead of pusing it down into the carpet. It is more like a dry cleaning I would guess, but I have one and I only use the kirby soap. I am assuming you have the cleaner that attaches to the kirby vacume its self, it cleans in a much different way than other carpet cleaners work.
