  • Washing towels..how often?

How often do you wash your towels? Do you wash a bath towel after using it only once?
My mom made us use the same bath towel all week to dry ourselves off with after a bath. She had 7 kids...she had to cut corners somewhere.
I usually wash my towels after drying off with them 3 or 4 times.Dh gets a new towel every time he takes a bath. Drives me nuts, because I feel like I'm always washing them.

I use mine only once, if I take 2 showers a day (because of swimming), I'll use a fresh towel again. DH uses his twice and DD washes her own, I think she uses hers 2 or 3 times.

I do about the same as you. I dont think its necessary to wash them after one use. Mom used to tell us "If you're clean when you dry off, the towel cant be dirty". DS has to have a fresh one every time, but thats becos he is too lazy to put the used one back in the bathroom where it belongs and doesnt want to take the time to go look for it again when he needs it.

Only once. With just 2 of us, no need to wash towels but once a week.

I Usually Use A Towel 3-4 Times, Every Time I Put Hubbys In The Dirty Clothes Pile He Says It Wasn't Dirty Yet--not Sure How Long He Would Use A Towel Before He Considered It Dirty.

                Towels

I put out a clean set of towels once a week. But it's just me.

I probably use one for 3 or 4 days... wash them all on the weekend and hang them out to dry when it's sunny. We LOVE crunchy towels!!

I clean our bathrooms every 3 days and launder towels once a week. Just 2 of us and have plenty of towels, besides, new front load washer holds bigger load.
                        Saves on water and gas.

For years and years I used two clean towels everyday - one for me and one for my hair and my husband used one clean one everyday - plus the towels in the downstairs powder room - seemed like I was washing a load of towels about every third day or so. Decided that if I used them twice I could cut the towel laundry in half, but now use them for four days and don't even have a load a week. In the downstairs powder room I hung just small towels over the ones that match the bathroom and hardly ever have to wash the larger ones. If somebody is coming just grab the little one and have nice clean matching towels hanging there. The third bathroom upstairs is hardly ever used except at Christmas and then we have mountains of towels.

I wash ours after one use. If I am certain a towel is THE ONE I used I will use it a second time. I cann't stand to dry my hands on a towel at that is hanging at someone elses house. I don't know where its been...lol.

I use them everyday for a week and then wash. I don't see the big deal. No one else uses them. I use one for my face and wrap my hair in it, and I use the other for my body. I guess I know I am clean and I don't dry off every part of my body, I tend to do a lot of air drying and only wrap it around my body.
