good restaurants in Clearwater/ Tampa area

Can anyone recommend restaurants in this area either family type or fine dining? Also, we love Cuban food.

I don't know if they will have Another Broken Egg near there or not. There are a couple in Florida, and they are fabulous breakfast/lunch places. Do not go there for dinner, they will be closed. They do breakfast/brunch/sandwhiches.

Columbia Restaurant

Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City (down town Tampa)is really good. They also have a Columbia Restaurant in Clearwater. The Columbia does original Spanish/Cuban flavor foods.

Let's seeeeeeee ...where to start.... Columbia is pricey but really good. LaTeresita (Tampa) is cheap Cuban food but very good and authentic. There are a few Broken Egg spots around the area. Check the phone book if you are looking for them. Sweet Tomatoes is a soup/salad buffet and very good. Several locations. One of my favorites .. If you like Mexican, we have a favorite place in Clearwater called Carramba's. Very authentic Mexican food. Do you have any special ethnic foods you are looking for .. other than the Cuban food. BTW, having worked in Tampa, we always found that there was a small restaurant on nearly every corner specializing in Cuban food and usually very good. If you go to Tarpon Springs, you'll find lots of restaurant that serve excellent Greek dishes. Tarpon Springs has a huge Greek community.

Just got back from Clearwater - we ate at Shephard's Waterfront Restaurant and it was fabulous....we're going again in Sept. and I'm definitely going to go to Shephard's again....fantastic seafood, prime rib buffet and the price was reasonable. Also, I highly recommend La Teresita (Ybor City) - it was very good too -

if u are going to have a car, and u dont mind a drive, and u really love seafood, then head over to orlando for dinner at the boston lobster feast. we did that when we were there 2 years ago at dd1's. she lives bout 50 miles n of tampa. it was soooooooooooo good!!!!!!! all u can eat seafood, including whole lobsters!!!!!!!!! check out their web site! has a coupon for drinks also. chop

We always like Leverocks. There are several around the Clearwater area. I am not a big fish eater like my husband but I can always find something there that I like. I LOVE the Key Lime Pie! I know that I am a diabetic but this is one thing that I will cheat and eat!!!
