  • What does your garden grow?

I'm turning this hallway outside my front door into an indoor herb/vegie garden. Hopefully. I've never grown a vegie in my life.

Have you have done container gardening?
I've got some chives. Will pick up radishes and few other little things today.
I do want at least one or two regular size tomato plants. How many do you think would fit in that big planter my rubber plant is sitting on now? Any idea?

I would think only 1 would fit. I have a raised garden bed and grow rosemary and basil in containers. I have done tomatoes and that worked fine. Good luck.

Maybe 2 tomato plants in the planter and herbs at the base?

I Have No Room For A Garden Either. I Do Have A "flower Bed" Against The Fron Porch About 5'-6' Long About 18" Wide, I've Got Herbs Planted There, And This Year I Put 2 Grape Tomato Plants, 1 Patio Tomato, 2 Ancho Chile Plants, And 1 Anaheim Chile Plants. So Far I've Got 5 Grape Tomatos Off Of Them. Got One Tomato Growing On The Patio Tomato Plant, And Buds On All The Chiles. I Wish I Had Place For Okra, Squash And More 'maters!

I've got no balcony and nowhere to plant. Therefore I've bought a topsyturvy which grows plants upside down. I'm going to hang it in my livingroom at the big window and grow tomatoes

My son takes a big bucket, poke a few holes in the bottom for drainage, fill with good dirt and put a stake in the middle, and he grows 1 regular tomato plant in each on his deck.

I've done those topsy turvy tomatoes before. Funny tho... they do NOT hang straight down as they show... the plant tries hard to grow UP and it's really funny looking. Works well tho!

I have parsley, basil, thyme, and rosemary in containers... on my porch. I'd love to have a garden but have to bring in some soil for big wooden boxes and fence it in to make it work... maybe next year?
