  • Good Thursday morning everybody!

Week is almost over. We had a thunderstorm come through last night, but very little rain. Less then 1/4 " according to our rain gauge. It's 8 am and it's already 77 , so it will be another very hot day today. Forgot to gas up my car yesterday, so I will do that this morning before the price goes even higher, with Memorial Day weekend and all. Bought some fabric to make blankets for my granddaughters yesterday and realized last night that I am still short on fabric. So I guess that means another trip to the Quilt shop. And then there is the eternal question " what's for dinner tonight " ??? LOL
So what's going on in your world ?

SSDD!!! It never rained yesterday like they said it would, of course! Suppose to rain thru the weekend of course. I lost 8 lbs yesterday....all in fluid, I was in the bathroom all day peeing. I probably have another 4 lbs on me. I'm PMS'ing, my boob's hurt, my head hurts, I'm bitchy, and the gossip is gas is suppose to go up another quarter today to $4 a gallon. Anything else you want to know?????

No, I think that will do ....LOL
I better get to the gas station, yesterday it was $ 3.65 after it was $ 3.59 the day before. Go figure
Read in this mornings paper that American Airlines will charge $ 15.00 for the first bag that you check and $ 25.00 for the second. No more free checked bags. No more flying American Airlines in my book.

          Good Thursday morning

Well the temp is supposed to get to 70 this afternoon. I am busy getting a dog, my male sheltie, ready for a Fri and Sat obedience show. Just worked him and then gave him a bath, now he is running around the house, have to let him dry a bit before I put him on the back porch, still a bit cool this morning. Then off to the grocery. This gas situation is terrible. Glad I don't have little kids that have to go to piano lessons, knothole, etc. I feel bad for my sons, they don't have terrible jobs, but don't have great jobs either-soon there will be more people on welfare because it won't pay to work by the time you pay for gas and taxes. Something has to stop soon. I used to get out everyday and drive somewhere-we live in the country-I have slowed that down some.Heard on tv this morning that Alaska gas prices is almost $5.00-ouch!! Well now that I have brought everyone down-hope everyone has a great Memorial day week-end.

I suppose that you are expected to put everything a your carry on bag, which is fine if you go away for a weekend. But anything longer then that, I just don't see how you could do it, you have to check a bag. And if everybody had a carry on bag that they have to store inside the plane, there isn't enough room. There is only so much you can fit in the overhead bins or on the floor in front of you. But the airlines don't care, they want you to pay for your bags, to cover the cost of the fuel. It's all about fuel, it's effecting everything, everything.

Same here, it's just the two of us. But I watch my daughter and family, my granddaughter just got her first car, so now they have to pay gas for three cars.
My son gets a gas allowance in his job, thank goodness for that.

Good morning all. Thanks for reminding me to fill up today just in case the gas price jumps up over the weekend. I'm off tomorrow, so I'm cleaning the inside of the house this morning so I can spend tomorrow out in the yard. It's beautiful and in the 70's here for the next few days. Also gotta spend some time today calling around to find a handyman to fix some things around here...really dreading that! I can visualize my hard-earned money flying right outta the window!

Good Morning all. Still very cool here. Weather fellas keep saying it IS going to warm up. I really want to put my garden in this weekend.

Our main airline (yes we really do have only 1 MAIN airline) has already instituted a fuel surcharge, and I heard that the other smaller airlines were going to do the same. I have also really cut back on the amount of driving I do. I used to run into town 3-4 times a week. Now it is 1-2 times and I make sure that I have my list with me.

Talked to our neighbours last night. They are seriously thinking of moving back into town. They have 1 boy in high school and another about to enter high school. They said that all they do is drive, drive, drive with the kids.

I know how much driving my daughter and her husband are doing with their girls and their after school activities. Lilke Volleyball, practice twice a week , across town, tournaments every weekend, of course never close to home etc. At least now school is almost over and so are most after school activities. But now the summer is here and what do the girls want to do, go to the mall to meet with their friends... more driving.
So far I have not cut back on my driving, but most places I go to are within a few miles, grocery store and Costco within 5 minute drive. I don't gas up anymore often then I used to, but of course it is costing more.

Better hurry, Nu. I was checking out the website for the cheapest gas in my area. Looks like some of the larger gas chains have already started- price at a few of them have already jumped by about 15 cents a gallon overnight - and the weekends not even here yet

Sounds Like I'll Be Making One Trip To The Store And If I'm Out Of Something I'll Call The Neighbor And If She Doesn't Have It, I'll Fix Something Else!!! Lol

I Never Thought I'd See $4 A Gallon For Unleaded. I Know Some Parts Of The Country It's Already Higher, But We're In The Heart Of Oil Country!!!
