Question about a recipe

I was browsing recipes here and found Seaside Stuffed Mushrooms by silverkrystal1. I would like to make this recipe sometime. Does anyone know if you bake these or just make as posted? The recipe is this:

Seafood Stuffed Mushrooms

8 oz. fresh mushrooms stems removed
2-(8-oz.) pkgs. Cream Cheese, softened
2 green onions chopped
1/4 lb. crab meat
1/4 lb. small shrimp peeled and deveined
2-(1-oz.) pkgs. dry green onion dip mix
1 dash garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

In a medium bowl combine the cream cheese, green onions, crab, shrimp, green onion dip mix, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Mix together and chill mixture for about 1 hour. spoon mixture into clean mushroom caps to stuff and serve.

I'd think it'd need to be baked IMO... To melt the cheese and soft the mushrooms. I have never had stuffed mushrooms without being cooked.

I would think baked as well. The shrimp would need to be cooked as the recipe didn't call for cooked shrimp.

Wouldn't this need a binding agent of some kind?

Changed my mind about making this..this one sounds good to me..may throw in some cayenne pepper or Old Bay Seasoning..maybe some cheese.

1 pound large mushrooms
1 can crab meat or 6 oz fresh crab meat
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1teaspoon grated onion
2 tablespoons minced mushroom stems
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ pound bacon

Directions


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Clean mushrooms, remove stems, minced, and reserve.

In a large bowl, mix crabmeat, mayonnaise, lemon juice, onion, minced mushroom stems, salt and black pepper.

Fill cavities of mushrooms with mixture. Wrap with half a slice of bacon and fasten with a toothpick.

Place on cookie sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp. Remove and place on absorbent paper.
Serve warm.




*For best results use fresh ingredients.

I was thinking baked too but since I dont eat seafood I've never made anything like this stuffing! the first recipe seems incomplete and not finished to me ....good luck making the new recipe

I've Seen Raw Shrimp On Sushi, But I Don't Do Sushi, Fish/seafood Needs To Be Cooked. I Say That, And I Have Eaten Raw Oysters, They're Ok, But I Prefer Them Cooked.

I've never seen raw shrimp on sushi and would never eat it raw. Other fish raw no problem

Never had sushi and never will...found this at epicurean ..this recipe sounds really good..
Red Lobster Stuffed Crab Mushrooms:

1 1b. fresh mushrooms - (about 35 to 40)
1/4 cup finely-chopped celery
2 tablespoons finely-chopped onion
2 T. finely chopped red bell pepper
1/2 lb. crab claw meat
2 cups oyster crackers -- crushed
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/4 teaspoon freshly-ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1/2 cup water
6 slices white Cheddar Cheese

:Preheat oven to 400*.

Saute celery, onion, and pepper in butter for 2 minutes, transfer to a plate and cool in the refrigerator.

While vegetables cool, wash mushrooms and remove stems. Set caps to the side and finely chop half of the stems. Discard the other half of the stems or use elsewhere. Combine the sauteed vegetables, chopped mushroom stems, and all other ingredients (except cheese slices) and mix well.

Place mushroom caps in individual buttered casseroles or baking dishes (about 6 caps each). Spoon 1 teaspoon of stuffing into each mushroom. Cover with sliced cheese.
Bake in oven for 12 to 15 minutes until cheese is lightly browned.
