  • Re-Gifting...

    Ok, here are the questions:

    1. Have you re-gifited?

    2. What's the worst gift you received then re-gifited.

    For Me:

    1. Yes )))

    2. Chunky jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelet & anklet) - just not my style.

          No, I have never re-gifted.
If I receive something I don't like it usually winds up in my bag that I donate to charity, i.e. Goodwill or such. If it is truly awful I throw it out.

I hate to admit, but I'm the re-gift Queen and proudly hold the title ! They aren't bad gifts, just stuff I don't need or want. The hardest thing is to remember not to re-gift back to the person who gave it to me !

I got a gift from someone when they came back from their honeymoon. I found the gift obscene and threw it out. I did not tell them it got tossed but I wasn't keeping it in my house nor would I ever give it to anyone else.

                Yes.

Since I have COPD, I cannot tolerate burning candles (also diesel exhaust, etc.). When I received a big scented candle, I regifted it to someone whom I knew liked candles.

I don't regift awful gifts either. This year for Christmas I got a singing monkey from my room mother. We exchange gag gifts in a white elephant exchange in my Sunday school class for Christmas. I got rid of the monkey there.

I don't re-gift, but I will put one in a white elephant type game too. If it is awful I just toss it in a tote and whenever I have a garage sale I will try to sell it! If it is really awful I would toss it in the trash. I don't think I have had to through anything away yet!

Not as a gift per se. Typical example was a BD gift I got from an old friend this year (strange to begin with since we never before exchanged gifts); anyway, both DDs were here and I asked did either of them want the gift before it went in the Salvation Army box. I always ask them or close friends before I dispose of something that's new but that I wouldn't use; if no takers, then it goes to charity. BTW, much to my surprise, one of DDs did want the particular item as it was her "colors". You just never know - one man's junk...............

I have a major problem with perfumed anything. If I get scented candles, hand/body lotion, etc., I have regifted--especially if the item is high quality.

Yes, I have re-gifted. One year I got one of those old-fashioned air-pop popcorn blowers for Christmas from a distant family member that I dont see often. I gave it to another distant family member the next year for Christmas. About 2 years later, the exact same popcorn popper ended up coming back to me for Christmas! (I know it was the exact same one, because there was still a shread of wrapping paper taped on it that I still had on a roll in the closet.)
