vegetarian steak using soy cakes

I went to a Jamaican vegetarian restaurant today and on the menu was steak. I thought it was weird to see steak at a vegetarian restaurant. He told me it was from a soy cake. I thought I'd try it and it was spooky. It looked like steak and tasted like steak, but wasn't beef. It was soooooooo good as the seasoning was perfect for me (not spicy). Has anyone ever eaten or made anything like this?

There are some great veg things out there. I really love the fake chicken, but it comes down to knowing your brands, and whichs ones actually taste good. Oh did I mention they are very expensive also?
