Me too.. I can't make good sauce. Always seems too vinegary or tart.

my son makes one that he got on the internet that is supposed to be from Hard Rock Cafe's pig sandwich. It is really good. I think he changes it a little, but he made it for his son's birthday party and everyone wanted the recipe. People even asked if they could have some to take home. When he gets home, I will have him post the recipe.

Here is one I found on Allrecipes. It is very highly rated, so I am guessing it must be pretty good! I don't make my own. I love Jack Daniels BBQ sauce!

"This is a Kansas City-style sauce that I make in my restaurant. It is sweet and smoky with a little bite."

          INGREDIENTS:
          2 cups ketchup
          2 cups tomato sauce
          1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 1/4 cups red wine vinegar
          1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
          4 teaspoons hickory-flavored
          liquid smoke
          2 tablespoons butter
          1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

          1/2 teaspoon onion powder
          1/4 teaspoon chili powder
          1 teaspoon paprika
          1/2 teaspoon celery seed
          1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
          1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
          1 teaspoon salt
          1 teaspoon coarsely ground
          black pepper
          DIRECTIONS:
          1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, mix together the ketchup, tomato sauce, brown sugar, wine vinegar, molasses, liquid smoke and butter. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, celery seed, cinnamon, cayenne, salt and pepper.
          2. Reduce heat to low, and simmer for up to 20 minutes. For thicker sauce, simmer longer, and for thinner, less time is needed. Sauce can also be thinned using a bit of water if necessary. Brush sauce onto any kind of meat during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Here is hubby secret to that sticky lick it off your fingers recipe.

He starts it with two big bottles of Sweet Baby Rays.. Takes like 3 or 4 lemons, 1/4s em and tosses em in. Healthy handfuls of brown sugar and lets it simmer for an hour. 1st time he made it I was thinking how stupid but wow it was great. So simple. He had my whole family wiping their plates with their fingers to get all of the sauce.

I LOVE Sticky-Fingers (brand) bbq sauce. Don't know if it is available all over. We got ours in South Carolina. I will be bootlegging a few more bottles when we go back in Sept. Just seems so much easier to grab a bottle than make your own.

I have yet to find "bottled" sauce that we like.
Dont have sweet baby rays or sticky fingers around here...at least not that I've seen.

Thank you for all your suggestions and recipes...but I KNOW there are more out there
