Tim Russert from NBC News and Meet The Press died of a heart attack today at the age of 58. He will be greatly missed.

I am absolutely, thoroughly heartbroken over this. he was from Buffalo, and he was ALWAYS here. He loved Buffalo - I met him several times. I am blown away. it's like a close family friend died - I saw him every day, every week on television. It just seems impossible that Big Russ outlived him. All my love and prayers to the family. What a total shock. I wonder how many dignitaries will be here for the funeral.

Don't ever remember seeing him on TV, but the fact that he was only 58 really got to me. Just heard about a friend dying at 55... I've got mortality on the brain.

Bethi, I know what you are saying. I was also very upset by his death. I watched him on NBC in the mornings when he was on the news, and also watched him when I could on Meet The Press... He was kinda "part of my day"! When I first heard this afternoon, I was telling my co-workers about his death, and they were all like, "Who?" I couldn't believe no one else was upset... RIP Tim.......

Did you see on TMZ after they pretaped his last interview they commented to each other how he didn't look so good? Too bad he didn't go get health care then.

Why you're there did you see how beautiful Barbara Eden is at 73....unreal.

he seemed like a good guy, did his homework for interviews,too bad to die so young.

I always thought he seemed like a good person of high intelligence. His work showed a lot of insight and preparation.
It seems from what I read that he was under a Drs. care for his heart and had just passed a stress test recently.
