  • I need that "magic zipper".....

For my Mouth! I need to lose at least 50 lbs. I love food taste and textures. Any help you can give me short of a magic zipper?

I don't have any friends in my neighborhood because I work most of the time in a different city from where I live. My hubby is not much help. I've begged him to please be my personal trainer and help me get moving and he said yes, but he still comes home, eats dinner and then plops on the couch for the rest of the night or is on his computer playing games....ugh

    I'm depressed over this (((

If you're really serious about losing weight, and have the extra money, I recommend joining Weight Watchers. It's the only diet program where you're not deprieved of any food. Just stay within your point range. Plus there are alot of "free" foods, that have no point value. You don't have to go into a meeting place, I think you can do it all online now. There were days, that at the end of the night, I still hadn't used all my points for the day that I had to stuff my face before bed.

Ro-Ro, you just have to decide to do it. I decided to finally get this baby weight and the quit smoking weight off. I joined WW 5 weeks ago and have lost all but one week. I have decided that I am not quitting this time.

I had a hard time sometimes looking at Dh and the kids dinner that I cook for them. I have started eating a cottage cheese and peach salad right before I start cooking. That way I am not hungry or tempted to taste their dinner while cooking it.

I think you just have to be ready to do it. You will know when that time is

If I had the $$, I'd go for the personal trainer. I know if I'd just get MOVING, I'd feel better and you really do get to a place where you feel crappy if you DON'T do your workout. I need to lose about 50 too but really think the food part almost takes care of itself if you're working out well enough!

I'll take a magic zipper if you find any!!

Check out Kimkins - like a modified Atkins. One time fee to join. They offer recipes along with a chat board where they support each other. There even challenges to others to try to lose a specific amount of weight in a specific amount of time.

I really like this diet but my thyroid is not allowing me to lose weight at this time. When it settles down I'll be trying again.

I know some people that have used quick weight loss center with success. They are not cheap, but they said their health was worth the money. The up front money help's you to stay committed to the program. You have to vision seeing how good you will look and feel with the 50 lbs off, and then make it a personal goal. You can't say you'll start next week or next month or after a holiday, start now, the longer you wait the harder it gets.

Thanks for the link Luvs. However, as I love to eat, starvation was never going to be a problem for me. I modified her modified diet. I never experienced any of this.

I've been doing Atkins and I find that it really works for me. I've lost about 34 pounds and have about 25 more to go. If you can pick up the new Atkins Diet Revolution book at the library and read it you'll get an idea real fast if it is for you. I love it and understand that this is going to be a life long way of eating. But hey, butter, cream, cheese, I can live with that.

Re: I need that "magic zipper".....

Kimkins creator, Heidi Diaz, is currently being investigated by the federal government as well as California state agencies, and is the defendant in a class action lawsuit for fraud.

The Kimkins diet is a starvation diet, and nobody who is pregnant or nursing should be on this diet -- you have the right to starve yourself, but you do not have the right to starve your baby.

Nobody has the right to starve a baby.

Google "Kimkins scam", "prenatal nutrition," and "neonatal nutrition."

It's absolutely astounding to me that women who are smart enough to operate a computer, smart enough to navigate the internet, and smart enough to participate in an online weightloss support forum, don't have the faintest idea of the nutritional needs of unborn babies and nursing babies -- if they do know, they don't care. Nothing matters except getting thin. Nothing matters -- not even the life and health of their babies.

I'm so upset about this. There are at this very moment expectant and nursing Moms who are members of the Kimkins website, and neither the owner -- Heidi Diaz -- nor her staff, are warning these Moms of the dangers of this insane diet.

I repeat -- nobody has the right to starve a baby.

The Kimkins Diet is nothing more or less than starvation.

                            Period.

It's a super low everything diet -- super low calories, super low carbs, super low fats, super low protein, super low nutrients.

For over a year now, many members of the online weightloss community have been investigating this diet and its creator, and the facts are shocking.

Anybody who cares about their health, and the health of their family and friends, can Google "Kimkins scam" as well as basic nutrition info especially the medical data on what starvation diets do to the human body and brain.

Talk to the Kimkins Survivors. Check out the research that's been dug up and the evidence that's been gathered. Read the court documents. And yes, there are a ton of court documents, and they're online at the website of the Riverside California court system because Heidi Diaz and several people who work for her are being sued for massive consumer fraud.

You want to see what Heidi looks like? This alleged diet diva who has made millions teaching desperate dieters how to starve themselves and their unborn babies and newborns? Look for yourself. Google the surveillance photos and videos, shot by news cameras and a private investigator.

This woman, who has not lost any weight, and drives around with open boxes of sugar cookies, has the gall to insult and demean people when they eat an extra piece of lettuce. You think I'm kidding? The evidence is right there, online, in posts she herself wrote, at the Kimkins website and before that at the Low Carb Friends support boards while she was "perfecting" her spiel.
