Re: who drinks this drink
Never been and will never go. Someone from Hooters offered my oldest DD a job at about 18 years old. It's just a DAMN good thing I wasn't standing next to him when he did."What fresh hell is this?" Dorothy Parker

Re: who drinks this drink
Here's a couple - the one listed first is our own COOKINKAT'S!
Mine is way simple and all my friends love it. LOL!! One of them wants to be buried with a gallon of it:
CookinKat's Summer Sangria
l-lg. bottle red wine
1 cup Triple Sec (to kick it up a notch)
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups pineapple juice
2 cups orange juice
fruit (optional)
Mix and chill.
I usually use a red zinfandel, but have also used a merlot.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PEACH SANGRIA
1 bottle White Zinfandel
1/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup peach-flavored brandy
6 tbsp thawed lemonade concentrate
8 oz sliced peaches
Mix together the wine, sugar, brandy and lemonade until well mixed. Add in the peaches, and refrigerate overnight.
Serve the next day from a large pitcher filled with ice.
This is very good!!!!! But especially good in the summer. Use a very dry white wine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WHITE SANGRIA
1 c sugar
1 1/2 c water
1 c orange juice
1/2 c brandy
1 (750ml) chilled dry white wine
Mix sugar and water till blended. Add juice, brandy and sliced oranges, lemons and limes, saving a few for garnishing. Just before serving add wine. Garnish w/ saved fruit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
White Summer Sangria
1 bottle white wine
1 cup orange juice
¾ cup lemonade
Fresh fruit your choice (frozen is fine)
Mix & chill in a large pitcher or bowl. Serve over ice in large glasses; garnish with fruit.
Hint-to keep your Sangria cold, make ice cubes from fruit juices instead of water
or add frozen fruit! Your Sangria stays cold without tasting watered down!
