  • Is the tomato scare over???

I see them in the grocery stores now. I miss a tomato slice on my sandwich. My cousin in Fl. heard that it is safe in Fl. I wonder about Az. DD & I went to subway & she got tomato on her sandwich, I am still scared.

We were lucky, they never left the stores here.

They never left the stores here either. Some restaurants still will not serve them. We did have a few cases here in OK. I never stopped buying them, but then I wash my veggies very well and didn't worry about any contamination at home.

I read in the paper that it's ok now here in Texas. But my store is only selling the grape / cherry tomatoes and the ones on the vine. And the restaurant I had lunch at yesterday still had a sign up in regards to not serving tomatoes. Go figure

Restaurants here still not serving tomatos, I haven't heard officially if it's over or not. Our stores never took all the tomatos off the shelves. But I didn't buy any that were there.

I just bought some yesterday "vine ripened in greenhouses in Canada"
If y'all don't hear from me again, you'll know they weren't safe. LOL

They were off the shelves at Walmart last week, and back on today. Our homegrown tomatoes are coming in, and I have a counter full.

Don't you just hate that, when veggies spent too much time in that veggie drawer and mold has happened , a little juice has happened , then comes the smell, and you realize you can't avoid cleaning that drawer any longer LOL
