We are doing ribs, baked beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. Someone else is bringing the dessert so I have no idea what that is yet.

I Don't Know Either. July 4th Is My Dads Birthday Also, So We Have A Big Dinner At Their House Every Year. They Live On The Lake Now So Everyone Will Do Fireworks There, But Mom Hasn't Told Me The Menu Yet And What I Need To Bring. She Usually Does The Meat And Everyone Else Brings Everything Else.

We are having a july 5th party. I think we are going to do burgers, brats, veggies, chicken of some sorts, and as many prepackaged things as I think we can. I think we are having 30-40 people so just keeping the drinks cold, making sure everyone has a place to sit is going to be a challenge enough for us. Oh I am going to make home made ice cream that is for sure.

Actually...no. Althou I really like her this recipe was SIMPLE and fast. Regular rolled sugar cookie dough, take 1/3 out and mix with 1T cocoa powder. Roll the cocoa colored dough out thin, roll the remainder dough into a log, and cover with the cocoa dough. Slice and you start to see the "bread" shape. I bake them off...cool, spreadwith PB one side/J on other, cover with andother cookie and slice.

                              hi RoRo,
the PB&J cookies are sugar cookies (right outta the tube )
the hot dog and waternelon ones are butter cookie. Sugar cookie recipe "spreads" when baked, where as butter cookie recipes tend to holdthe "shape" much better.

And yes, they are dyed, then rolled into shape. The watermeollon cookies even have tiny chocolate chips as seeds
