Re: mom's of teenage boys..
Ha ha... no boys here, but when I met babe I was 14. My gf pointed to this new friend of her brother's who had full lambchop sideburns and asked me to guess his age. I guessed about 16. It was babe... and he was 12!!!"What fresh hell is this?" Dorothy Parker

I let him shave when he started getting hairy, Boys had to be clean shaven for school. It's not that way anymore. I don't remember if it was Jr. High, or High School. He's a hairy kid, and dark hairs."Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent." ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Re: mom's of teenage boys..
Like previous poster said, at one time school required boys to be clean shaven-now they don't at our school. DH was no help since he hates to shave and right now has a beard. It was probably when my boys were in high school when they started shaving, probably the freshman year.

Re: mom's of teenage boys..
Well.........Youngest DS started shaving his LEGS before his face!! (that was weird... all the guys were doing that for a while, think it's past now though because he doesn't do it anymore!)
He and oldest DS both did in their Freshman year of High School. They both needed to by then. They had these long stray blond hairs growing from their chins, on their necks and at random places on their faces!Lauren~The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people. ~

Re: mom's of teenage boys..
My oldest started shaving in 9th grade (had to be clean shaven for his JROTC class)
My 15 year old started at 2 months shy of 14, he kept complaining about chin strap on football helmet bothering him.
They are both Italian, and have dark facial hair and they look "shaggy" if they don't shave. LOLI'm a transplanted Yankee!

Re: mom's of teenage boys..
My youngest son wanted to start shaving as soon as he got his first facial hair, I guess at around 12. I remember my husband telling him "Dont do it, because once you shave, the hair will grow in faster and you will never be able to stop!". Of course DS shaved anyway, and DH was right - after the first shave, the hair started growing in so fast that he was having to shave regularly by the time he was 13.
