what went wrong with these idol's..

Fantasia sounds like she got the "big head" and thought she was too good to do what she was told, show up for appts, etc. Can't do that. No matter how good you are, you still have to go sell yourself outthere!!

I'm thinking the desire to be a recording artist/star is very different from the every day WORK to be a recording artist/star.

Maybe they didn't have as much talent as everybody thought after all. Nobody buying their CD's. After they got off the idol show the audience forgot about them.

I don't like the voting on AI. It's too much of a popularity contest. Most of them aren't marketable...and it all depends on the kind of music they sing.

Take Taylor Hicks, for instance...most of his charm was his "in person" personna. Just his voice couldn't carry him.

just because they were on the show does not mean they good enough for me to buy the CD.

where is justin the second runner up season one.

where's ruben? i dont' recall seeing him at all after about 6 months of the show's end.

amercian idol is just about a stepping stone for these peepsters, it's not a guarantee that they will be famous forever after wards.

..and I am still questioning the voting results on these shows. Maybe success was too easy for them ... the other recording artists who came up the traditional hard road appreciate their fans, keep their dates and work harder at staying at the top. These guys just had to get past Simon, Paula etc.
