  • Help Please-Television Reviews

Well..my television finally decided to stop working...or should I say..the volume doesn't work. It did this last week or so and I switched channels to see if it was just the station that I had on previously and it started working again. I have had it a long time and I don't want to put any more money into getting it fixed. Am going shopping for a new one this weekend and would like to buy a HIGH DEFINITION one. Will probaby go to circuit city maybe urners. Any recommendations on what brand to look at? The tv will be in our bedroom and it doesn't have to be huge. Thx for any and all help Much appreciated.

We've always had good luck with Panasonic TV and VCR/DVD

Please educate yourself on Digital/High Definition. First of all, you don't just plug these TVs into the wall like analog TVs. To hang it on the wall, it will require a special bracket, more than likely special cable from the TV to outlet like HDMI cable. Inquire about the progressive lines like 1080P vs. 720. Make sure you have a built in digital tuner that will work when transmission turns over to all-digital in February 2009. Right now, I have five
Sharp Aquos TVs from 15 inch (no longer made, for my office), 32 inch, 36 inch, 45 inch and the Grand Daddy of them all - the 65 inch LCD (not rear projection), I'm sure you can do some research on line to answer some of your questions or at least educate yourself on what you want. It's been a while since we purchased one of the new TVs so I have forgotten a lot of information. I haven't had one problem with Sharp Aquos and I'm sure Sony is right up there. I've already known two people that had big problems with VIZIO and returned them. But, it's like a lot of things - you can have a bad Mercedes and a great
KIA - opposite ends of the spectrum. Make sure you compare warranties too. Good luck.

ME TOOOO! I got my 32 inch Vizio at Costco last year for $599.... One thing I heard is don't buy Plasma. The bulbs burn out fast and expensive to replace. And when playing video games, the picture gets distorted.
