  • Question about dog bone safety

I made a big pot of beef stock yesterday (simmering marrow bones and veggies for hours).. afterwards I removed the bones to save for the dog, but I left them out all night.. is it still safe to give them to him for treats? Should I have (or should I now?) refrigerate them?

Re: Question about dog bone safety

I'm sure it'll be ok for the dog. My dog, more often than not, will bury his bone as soon as I give it to him, and dig it up later.

They eat road kill every chance they get and I am sure it is o.k.

Lots of bones actually.. ok, great, and thanks. I'll baggy them up and keep them in the pantry.

If they are the marrow type bones after they clean them out you can fill fhe opening with peanut butter, my dogs love that. I only let them have them outside since I do not want peanut butter on my rugs.

I'd keep them in the fridge if I were you...

LOL, I would keep them in the fridge or freezer for your sake, not the dogs. Dogs tend to drag home and eat things that died weeks ago- but the smell can be unbelieveable-
