We're Getting a Rotty Pup tonight and I need to Name Him
Re: We're Getting a Rotty Pup tonight and I need to Name Him
Our DD has two rotties ... Lucy and Ricky! Sweetest, gentlest, most loving dogs you have ever met. We credit DD with lots of discipline and obedience training for their demeanor. Both the other in-laws and us were horrified when they announced they had bought the first one (Lucy), but after several years of Lucy and Ricky in their lives, they made a great choice .
Now back to those names ... Baron? Herman? Klaus? Have fun naming the new pooch. And, may you have as much pleasure with him as our family has had with Lucy and Ricky.

Awwwww!! Too cool! I had turtles once named Ricky, Lucy, Fred and Ethel!! Named a cat Lucy once, but she was such a stinker, we decided it was short for Lucifer and not Lucy Ricardo!!
Ok.... A rot puppy? How about Rotten? As in Spoiled?
Fred is nice....

Found some these on a website for those who want to keep the "German" heritage names. However, I don't think some of them sound very "German" to me!!!! LOL......like Brutus. Some are names of the K-9 German Shepherds from the police station I work for too.
Good luck, I just went through "the name game" back in November when I rescued my 2 y/o male Golden Retriever. After a bizillion names, I FINALLY picked "Murphy".......although he was almost "Sammy". Murphy is not unusual or uncommon, but he fits it PERFECTLY!!!! He's my Murph, Mr. Murphy, Murphity and even Murphy Man all wrapped into one, LOL. Many years and many blessings with your furbaby!!!!

I know, Lauren, like the cookies.........too many to choose from!!!!! I was eating and sleeping dog names back in late October, early November. After awhile I got so weary, I just wanted to name him "Dee-O-Gee", LOL!!!!

Be very careful of this breed of dog. We just had 4...count them...four attacks on children in Nebraska just in days. They all said they were such nice dogs....ripped one toddlers scalp off.........she's ok thank gosh.

Be careful.
They are beautiful dogs, mostly great thru their lives, but they are very territorial, and protective of their "family". Good luck. Most of it is how they're raised and their training.
