  • Kuerig pod machine

DH purchased the kuerig coffee pod machine and he LOVES IT!
I dont drink coffee, but it also has "tea" as well as hot chocolate pods. Not sure how the tea ot hot chocolate would taste after the coffee is brewed...but we shall see. DH says its a really good cup of coffee at the right temp. (thats a nice way of him saying MY coffee is nasty and cold )

They are making thingies to use in place of the pod so you can put your own coffee in them thus saving money. I think you could probably get one of those and use Starbuck's coffee and still save money. Those little packets get expensive, we thought about getting one but after doing the math decided not to. We settled on a coffee press which I will NEVER switch from.

A question............if you make different hot beverages in there at different times, does the taste blend at all? Is this the same one the pioneer woman uses?

Sewsute - There is no "after" taste if you brew coffee and then tea or hot chocolate afterwards. Everything is contained in the K-cup that you throw away. If you decided to get the limited variation of K-cups at Bed, Bath and Beyond, be sure to use your 20% off coupons.
If you order on line, there are usually 25 cups/box per flavor rather than 18/box from BB&B plus ordering on line there is much more variety. I had heard that you can also order through Amazon.com but I haven't pursued that yet. I'm still using the big supply I have on hand.

              Re: Kuerig pod machine

He purchased it at Costco (one left, hidden below a ton of boxes). Came with TONS of coffee's to try...months worth I think!
He made me one of the "tea" pods this morning, and it was good. I couldnt really taste the coffee from the previous brew...it was good!
I looked online and they make a "pod maker" which you can use in a k-cup. You put your own coffee/tea/cocoa into the pod filter and the pod maker seals it. I might investigate that a little further...I like my own type of tea

Sewcute - I have that extra K-cup where you can put your own coffee into it instead of buying the cups. However, I have yet to use it. It wasn't easy getting the K-cup holder out of the machine to insert the "use your own coffee" holder. So I just put it back into the box it came in and there it sits. The device was only $15 but it's more convenient to just buy the K-cups, in my opinion.

As we opened the box(es) that came with the machine...we noticed there was a K-Cup IN THERE!!! I guess with the bundle pack from Costco you get one...YEAH ME!

Thank you everyone for all your advice!
