  • Help with Canning Green Beans

    My Stepdad is canning green beans and forgot how long to boil in the jars--not in pressure cooker. Anyone know? Thanks!

    I think 10 minutes, but I am not sure.

    Found this on google:

    Wash jars and bands in hot soapy water; rinse in hot water. Jars should be boiled in hot water for at least 10 minutes. Each 1000 feet above sea level will require 1 additional minute.

      Water bath canning hasn't been advised for non-acidic food for a long long time. My guess would be that it was probably at least an hour in a water bath canner.

        For vegetables it is now recommended to use pressure cookers to can
