I worked my ass off on a 16 page brief, with hundreds of pages of exhibits, for, probably, two weeks.
A few days before it was due, I put it on Scott's desk with a big ol' flourescent orange sticky note that said "Please review these exhibits carefully..."
The day it was due, I reminded him that "this is due today, you need to go over it"
He kind of flipped through the pages, looked at me and said, "did you go over these?" (Well, DUH, I put it together...) Then he just signed it and handed it back to me.
I mailed it to our three arbiters.

The day before our arbitration, he sat down and started going through it and just picking it apart. "Take this out, and this and this, blah, blah, blah..."

"Ummm ... Scott - the arbiters already have THIS whole package..."

GRRRRR

Then he called me after the arbitration and gushed about what an incredible, awesome job I did on it!

I hope so, when we get the settlement. The arbiters awarded our clients 65,000.00!

My boss is turning over the business to his son....talk about a "know-it-all" jackass - he thinks he's smarter than everyone else!!!! He was supposed to log in 400 hours and take several construction tests.....I logged in the hours for him because I know he is busy.....he failed the tests and that was back in Sept 07 and never did a retake. Well now we have a huge job Pinellas Cty and don't have a license there because he didn't pass. I've constantly told him to please retake the tests but he hasn't. The fees are now up to $525.00 in order for us to get licensed. Well to make a loooong story short.... I took the tests once and passed them both with flying colors!

I really let him have it about me passing the tests!!!

I have to send things out for legal opinions frequently. We HATE it when we have to send them to this one attorney cause he NEVER does his work and we have to chase him down all the time. So, I've been emailing him for 2 weeks asking the status of the BRIEF legal opinion we asked him to do 6 weeks ago... and AS USUAL... he's come up w/ a whole bunch of questions and wants all this other information that isn't relevant... I'm sure he's just stalling for time, but it's SO frustrating!!!

We had an accidental death case and this same attorney actually asked me if I knew where the deceased procured the drugs involved in the death?? I wanted to tell him... "Um... see... I have this small busniess on the side that I conduct on street corners..." How the heck would I know where some random guy got his drugs???

Scary, isnt it??? If idiots could fly, my job would be an airport.

We have a new RN at work. I was training her how to use our med system. Knowing she was an RN with many years experience, I assumed she at least knew the basics of giving medication!

She was drawing up insulin for a patient who was supposed to get 12 units of Regular insulin, which clearly has an "R" on the bottle. She starts drawing up 12 units of NPH Insulin which has an "N" on the bottle!

When I questioned what she was doing, she said "Well, N stands for normal, and normal means regular, doesnt it?"

The saddest thing is that When I told the Director of Nursing about it, we are so short of help, she said "But we are so short! We have to keep her! Let's just give her some time and hope she catches on!"

Hopefully nobody will get killed anytime soon!
