we found the perfect nursing home for my Mum...

She's been in hospital now for 13 weeks and we are anxious to get her out. It will also be wonderful to not have to drive for an hour each way every day to visit her. She'll be just 10 minutes from my home.

She's going here: http://www.trinitygarden.com.au/ and it's every bit as good as it looks. I hope it doesn't take long for her to settle in and feel at home. The room shown when you click the Accommodation tab is her actual room and she should be moving in by early next week.

If I had a spare $1,000,000 laying around, I think I'd move John and I in, too... This home is like a 5-star luxury hotel!

Hi, Cindy... we feel like a mountainous weight has been lifted from our shoulders. We love Mum and wanted the very best of care for her and I really believe we've found it. We cared for her at home for the past three years but it just got too hard. I'll still visit her every day but this will mean that I can also have a life as well...

That looks like a really nice place. I wouldn't mind moving in there either! I am glad you feel comfortable with where your Mum is staying, I imagine that is a relief for you and your family.

I'm so glad for you and your Mum, Chayote. What a relief for the whole family.

My Mom finally put her name on the waiting list at a retirement village complex. (the whole family had been urging, begging, pleading with her to do that, for the last 2 years) NOW she's annoyed because she is 146th in line for a 1 bedroom suite and is complaining that we shouldn't have left it up to her and should have gone and done it for her. Well, if we would have done that, and she found out, we would be so deep in sh*t that we'd never be able to dig ourselves out in her eyes.

Sometimes you just can't win.

It's beautiful - what a great relief for you. She will have luxury accommodations, good care, close to you yet you will also have the luxury of having private time without her.

What a nice place. A good friend of ours mother just went into a place a lot like that. She loves it. I have never seen her look so good!

That looks like a great place. I hope your Mum will be very happy there. I told dh if he goes before I do or if we get unable to live on our own that is the kind of place I would want to live in.

What a lovely place. My Mother lived in a place just like that for the three years before she passed away. The staff was so kind and she made lots of friends. You will feel that she is being taken good care of and yes I DO understand the life for you and your husband. It is not wrong to feel that way at all. Good luck with everything.

I am so happy to hear that mum will be close and in such a wonderful place. I am ready to move and join her! Or at least try to find somewhere like that for my dad and step mom.

They are both in declining health and we are looking at in home health care. BUT it is really hard to find good people.

Congrats on finding such a great place. It is beautiful and so homey!
