Wow, it doesn't effect me since DD is going to college but saw this on our public schools. I know Az. does start early but never remember it being this early. Aug 11th was on the bulletin board as I went down the road. That seems early but guess things are changing. I lived back east & we went after Labor Day. I always thought we went mid Aug out here but guess they are changing things around. Seems very early to me.

My kids go to meet their teachers and take supplies on the 4th of August from 5to 7pm. Their first full day is the 8th. I can't believe it starts so soon, We usually start in late August. -

Our first day here is Aug 13. It makes the summer so short. I work at school--so it's back to work for me

Schools in our area start Sept 2nd. Governor changed it from August to allow more vacation time for parents. Last weeks in August seem to be big for that.Comment

We start Aug. 25 here. Everyone else seems so early.
