  • I dont get it...email question

I know better than to click on the link in any emails that are sent to me from an unknown source because they may contain viruses. But lately I have been getting a lot of emails that dont contain a link, they just contain a bunch of unintelligible characters. They are really undecipherable. They usually have a title thats in English that makes you think they are advertising or promoting some business offering, but the body of the email is just an undeciperable mess. So I am wondering why anyone would go to the trouble of sending these out?

I can preview these in Outlook Express without opening them, and I always block the sender when I get them, but they keep coming. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Yes, I have gotten those, where even the title is undecipherable. I just click on spam and get them off, I never open them up. I have no clue what it is all about, you can't read it ??

I Get Them All The Time Also. I Just Click Spam, But Keep Getting More And More. Yahoo Puts The Majority Into A Spam Folder That I Just Empty, Don't Even Look At. Outlook Express Never Did, But They Had In () Possible Spam. It'd Take Forever To Just Delete Those.

I Had Email From Wishingstar Yesterday, That One Of Them Looked Like A Spam One, It Was Her Email Addres, But Advertisement For A Phone. Wasn't Sure If She Was Hijacked Or What, Got Another One From Her, A Joke, Which I Read And Laughed. I Meant To Email Her And Ask Her If It Was An Advertisement Or Joke, And Forgot Till Now. I Just Forwarded Her A Couple Emails Though! Lol

If I don't recognize who it is from I delete it. If I have a spam feature on that particular email address I use that. I actually haven't found any reduction in the spam crap I get but I'm trying.

I've found that you can eliminate some of the spam by going down to the bottom of the email and clicking on "unsubscribe". Even if you never subscribed to something, you will get it as if you did. It does work on some, but unfortunately, you'll always get some spam.

The downside of that Bette is that if you've opened it, if there is a virus attached to it you've now released it. I never even open them.

That's true, Ruby. I don't worry about viruses though. I have a Mac laptop. It's VERY unusual for them to get any kind of virus. That's what I like most about it. I have never had a virus problem of any kind. Macs are awesome!
