  • OK, I can justify it, I guess...

    Was beating myself up over paying 14.00 for two pieces of filet mignon the other day. But I wanted those steaks *so* bad. They were really thick, so I sliced them in half and made four steaks out of them. I guess four (three dollar and fifty cent) filet mignon dinners isn't bad.
    That's dinner tonight. With an artichoke and some leftover au gratin potatoes.

      YUMMY! That sounds good. I am going to pay 5.88 a pound for some Ribeyes this weekend. I think you got a really great buy on those.

          I bet there was no "waste" after that kind of dinner, so why feel guilty, eh?

            Hey! When your body tells you STEAK!!!!!! i think you got a bargain too. Just think how delicious it was and how much it would cost if you ate out, had some wine or drinks and the tip? LOL! Tell the Fam they can tip you...lol! Then you will have paid for the meal! Ya did good BayBay!

              Well, Conway enjoyed his filet mignon. I overcooked it. I just can't eat overcooked beef. I was so mad at myself.

                Dont beat yourself up. That is a great price for steak. I usually pay much more here at a local meat market for filet so you should be proud.

                You said you over cooked it. Did you use a timer and only turn it once? With steak, you should set a timer on each side to make sure you cook it to the doneness you like. Or stick a meat thermoeter in and when it gets close to the internal temp you want take it off and let it rest for 5 minutes as it will continue to rise in temp.

                  I just had filet at a restaurant and it was 28 dollars...you got a great deal...don't beat yourself up lol
