  • Air-beds/mattresses

DH and I were camping. He over-inflated the mattress, and in the middle of the night, it starting popping. By morning, The mattress was round, and I was sleeping on the floor. So..................we are in the market for a NEW one. I was just wondering if the Aero-beds are worth the extra money?

It seems some mattresses get a slow leak that you can't find to fix. Others are just not firm enough to be able to sleep on. DH is close to 300# and tall, maybe it is to much to ask of a mattress!

    TIA!

    Re: Air-beds/mattresses

When my middle son and his wife married and came to visit us, instead of them sleeping in bunk beds, I had the "smart" idea of getting a queen air mattress for them to sleep. They kept telling me that the bed was fine until about the middle of the night and then would go flat, well I inflated it once and actually read the instructions, and found out you are supposed to do it a certain way, then had no more problems. Now the problem, they are divorcing, so son can now sleep when visiting on a twin bed I have.

I bought an Aerobed from QVC. It was the elevated Queen, with the pump built in. I stored it away for months and then finally decided to sleep on it. It was very very comfortable, I could adjust the air anytime I wanted without having to get up. BUT, I noticed air was leaking out. Using it about 10 times, it flattened. I should have read the Reviews on QVC on it, but, I seen one Review, that said Customer Service was a big help. I called them after having the bed for 11 months and they told me to send it back. They even paid the S/H!!

We bought a Coleman with the built in pump. Same thing happened. He called Coleman up, and they told us to cut the pump out and send it to them with the receipt, and they would replace the mattress. We didnt have the receopt. Ugh. So he bought me a regular Coleman and its lasting just fine. But, the comfort doesnt compare to the Aerobed.

If your going to buiy an Aerobed, get it from QVC. It has a year warranty on it, and if it poops out, you can at least get your money back.
