The storm has made landfall about 15 minutes ago, south of Port Arthur and is headed inland on a north / northwest path, which includes Austin BJ, so get ready for some rain. We are south of that path, so not sure how much rain if any is coming our way. As of now, the sun is out and it is dry.

I just got off the phone with my son. He said Conroe is expecting 6-10 inches rain and 50-60 mph winds possible. He is not going into Houston today. He said he got all of his properties secured yesterday and was going to ride it out at home. He was sitting at MC Donald's getting him and his partner breakfast! I told him to get his butt home! Always a mom

Well it is steadily raining and the wind is pretty gusty right now. I guess the thing picked up speed during the night because it made land fall earlier than they thought it would. They have closed down I-10 near Winnie (near Beaumont) due to water & flooding. Chambers county has already had 5 inches of rain, so I expect Sabine and Nu will be getting their much needed rain in a little while. The temps have gone down and it is nice & cool out if you could find a spot that was dry it would be enjoyable. Right now everything seems ok. It is really dark out so I expect the rain to stay all day. Thanks for caring. I love you all.

So far so good. Sun is out and it is still dry. According to the local weather man, the rain is not supposed to start until early afternoon. We shall see. Austin is really expected to get heavy rain. No, if it rains hard we will stay home, but if it is just light rain, no reason not to go out.

Well we're sitting and waiting for it to get here. We're in line for it to get us, thank goodness for the rain, should start in the next 30 minutes or so.

we will not be effected by this storm enough for anybody here to worry up having enough food / water etc. We are too far inland. Rain and wind is all we are going to get out of it, if we are lucky.

I am looking at the radar and it looks like some of the feeder bands are approaching College Station.
