... and I must admit I don't know his music... but is his Warren Zevon, Sweet Home Alabama rip off the kind of stuff he usually sings? Are there other popular songs I'd remember?

I love his new song, they're playing it on the country stations also. I think he started out as Rap, may be wrong. He's got a great voice when he sings. I listen mainly to country, but he does have a few songs I like. He sang Pictures with Cheryl Crow. I liked that one. and a few more, I'm horrible with names.

I thought he sang rap as well...never heard a song of his till this new one (which I also feel he ripped off).
I cant judge him on his music...just know I hear the new song all the time and keep singing the "real" words. sorry LKR

He started out singing rap years ago and it was really nasty stuff....he sings

Only God Knows Why

He also has a song called Amen.... he is getting tamer as he gets older. He sings a variety of stuff at his concerts from rap to rock to country.

If you want to look up some of his songs, another nice one is Cold and Empty, or I Am They are both clean and slow. I Am is beautiful

He didn't rip it off...actually he is touring with Lynard Skynard right now. He is giving reference to Sweet Home Alabama as being one of his favorite songs back in those days.

But it's ok...I sing the real version too. If you ever go to a KR concert, he plays a lot of the music that he says inspired him and puts huge pictures of them up on a screen as he sings their things.

A while back he done a song with Hank Williams Jr. called "The F Word" and at the time there as a rumor going around that they were father and son. Then you go look it up and find out they are not. That song was fun to listen too. I like Kid Rock more now than before then again I am a mellow music listener. He has some good songs.
