Bad news about school

I went to work in my classroom and low and behold they have blocked CopyKat from my computer because it is a chat board......I don't know what I will do all year. I am sooooo angry

That happened to me the last few years I worked for the school district, too, Lisa. It sucks big time!

It happened at the beginning of last year and it said the reason was....lol....Ways to commit crimes.....don't know what that meant..... so later it started working...now it says chat board...so it will probably be blocked all year...

It amazes me that a company would even allow employees to get on the Internet for personal business or pleasure. They are paying you to provide a service to the business. I wonder how many employees,if they owned the business would allow their employees to use company time in chat rooms. At my company they monitor all Internet excess and if you are caught on the Internet for personal use you can be disciplined up to termination.

I will admit that AT&T would have fired me if I ever went online here or anywhere while at work. Thank God I'm retired now.

The school I worked at didn't allow employees to use school computers for personal stuff. Personally I don't know how anybody working in the school system would even have time be on a chat board during school hours, exept for your lunch hour. And the lunch hour in our school was just 30 minutes, hardly enough time to eat, nevermind being on a computer. LOL

I've never been allowed to come here from school. Not that I've even tried, but I am assuming since so much is blocked from there. I rarely have time to pee, so it makes no difference here.

Hopefully you can still come after school and visit!

they blocked ebay at my dh's work..he was so upset..but now he's getting his work done..

my sil works as a book keeper at a elementary school..and she's constantly playing computer games..she said she's addicted..and it's hard for her to get her work done.

There are such things as breaks and lunch hours. I never accessed the Internet for personal reasons during the time I was working. I did access the Internet for the kids sometimes to print out coloring pages. Also to get information for students doing reports and the like. There are many reasons to use the Internet in an elementary school. I never accessed my chat boards unless I was on my own time. I'm sure that Lisa doesn't either.

I Use Mine (to Be Here) During Work, But I'm Never On Here When I Have Stuff Pending. I Do All My Phone Calls, And Take Care Of Patients In The Office First. Only Come On Here In Brief Periods Between Patients And When Calls Are Caught Up. My Doc Is Anal About Getting Messages Back To Me As Soon As I Get Them To Him And Our Calls Are Done Quickly Unlike Others In The Office, Their Docs May Not Answer Calls Until 5 Tonight.
They Blocked Myspace On Here, Too Many Were Getting On There And Playing Instead Of Working. I Don't Blame Them. They Now Need To Take Away The Cell Phones, They Are Causing More Missed Work Time Than The Internet.

In the schools I worked at we were not allowed to have our cell phones on during class time. And that's how it should be. Teachers are there to teach not to play on computer chat boards or get personal calls. You can do that on your own time after school is out.
Like Hunebe was saying you have hardly time to go to the bathroom, nevermind being on the computer for personal use.

The Younger Girls Keep Their Phones On Their Desks And Text All Day, Won't Answer Phones. I Don't Know Why They Won't Do Something About It. My Cell Phone Is In My Purse, It May Ring Once Every Couple Months. My Family Knows Call Me On My Work Phone, And Only If It's Important.
These Young Kids Have No Work Ethics. Sure I Can't Say A Whole Lot, I'm On Here, But..... My Work Is Caught Up/done!!!

When I worked I warned all new employees not to be online for personal reasons. There was a program on my computer and I could see each site they went to and how long they were there. If they abused it I had to let them go, it was part of my job. The company felt during business hours we belonged to them.

Our cell phones had to be turned off. You could use your phone during your lunch time, who had time ?? Barely enough time to eat before it was time to pick up the kids from the cafeteria.

I have a 45 minute free period a day an a hour lunch to do what I want. I sometimes get on when my kids are taking a test. I never neglect my duties to chat.
