Detroit's Mayor

Have you heard that Kwaame Kilpatrick the Mayor of Detroit was sent to prison for violating his bond in the perjury case. I live not far from Detroit and watched the going ons today. I watched as the Mayor tried to justify to this judge as to how he was too busy to pick up the phone to make the call notifying the court of where he needed to be.
I think it's great that the judge did what he did and made it perfectly clear that just because you are an official does not mean you have the right to break the law. I say GO JUDGE!!!

I saw that this morning on CNN, it's about time a judge has the guts not to give special treatment to " famous" people, good for him.

I applauded when I heard that. The man just kept on and on digging himself deeper. Do you remember the Ford Navigator incident? The one with the heated leather seats that was suppose to used for undercover work? Then they find out his wife was driving it! He should have stepped down a long long time ago. Now theyre digging deeper and deeper and finding all this stuff on him.

Well, well, well..and now the mayor was charged with additional charges for assault against an officer of the law. He had to post another bond is already out of jail...smiling and waving at the newspeople. The good thing is that he has to wear a tether and is restricted to where he gets to go, but the bad news is he's out. What is wrong with our judicial system...why cut him any slack.
Does this mayor realize that if he is convicted of these felony charges that he will never be allowed to vote again AND that he will lose his law license? What got into him.

I applaud this judge! I do think there should be no bail, though. Let them get the "experience" others get.
