I've got a great Hubby!

Came home last Wednsday and Hubby told me to pack a bag for a week because we were going on vacation. He surprised me with a trip to the Great Smokey Mountains and to Dollywood. We finished out our trip to Savannah (where I want to live) and had dinner at Uncle Bubba's. He arranged for my vacation with the boss too. I was so impressed with him!.

Got to tell us about Uncle Bubba's & Dollywood. I saw on a show the food that Dollywood serves. Huge portions. What did you eat there? Glad you had a wonderful time.

Good gravy, I'd never be able to go on a vacation like that if my hubby were to come home and announce that to me..........because I'd probably die of a heart attack right on the spot and never get to go!!! LOL

Krub, sounds like my ex.. He refused to go anywhere where there are crowds.. Even to a restaurant, if there was anyone waiting for a table, we'd drive all over town to find a place where there is no wait.. One time we drove around for 45 minutes and finally found a place.

I couldn't simply pick up and go, because I am the one that arranges everything--who's looking after the cats, is there enough pet food in the house, has the dog been booked into the kennel, are her shots up to date, is laundry done so we actually have clothes to take on vacation, are the bills up to date so nothing will be overdue once we get back from vacation, if we are going to a condo instead of a resort, is the 'survival pack' (essentials like s&p, olive oil, vinegar, coffee, sweetener, creamer, etc etc etc) loaded, have the kids got our itinerary and emergency numbers, will the neighbours be bringing in the mail or does it have to be stopped at the post office........ The list seems endless.

You are a very lucky person!!

Dollywood was great...lots to see and do. We even did the big roller coaster. I told my DH that I didn't want to do this but he made me (kind of)....it was a blast. We did it 2 more times before we left the park.

Dolly's food was good country food. They did have the fast foods too like pizza, corn dogs, etc....

Now for Uncle Bubba's.....to die for at dinner time. Their food was so fresh and delicious. Yummy corn muffins, lima's, seafood, etc...

We went back for lunch the next day and were very disappointed. I think they reheated the left over lima's (very salty) and corn muffins (very try). I had their fried oyster basket w/ Scallops and they brought me friend oysters and shrimp. I ate they oysters but they were extremely over cooked. I told the waitress about this mix up and she brought me the most suculent scallops...mmmmmmmmmmm. She ignored me about the dried out oysters . Overall, I would definately go back for dinner.

Oh Ro thanks for sharing with us. Glad you & DH enjoyed it. Sounds like a beautiful vaction. You know we are all jealous but happy for you too. Suprises are fun. Now the rest of us look at DHs thinking well, do something. HA HA HA You got a gem and keep him. Tell him we are so happy he did a wonderful & fun thing. Also tell him that he is a keeper.
