  • Pet Insurance???

Does anybody have it for their pet??? I am really considering it. Daisy isn't even two yet and I have paid a fortune in vet expenses. Plus, a cat that has an allergy attack every couple of months.

I do not have it, but in your situation I would.

I had it when my Boston Terrier was a pup .... I dropped it after all the puppy shots. He's 8 and has never had any health problems

I have it for Peaches (pure boxer, almost 2 years old). I'd talked to enough boxer owners who all told me ONE illness or injury makes it pay for itself!

Which on do you have??? There are so many and I found you really gotta read the fine print regarding limits, etc.

We used to back in VA when Sol had allergies and was in the vet every week. We moved to FL and he cleared up so we canceled. It helps with visits and monthly meds too.

I can't recall which company, I'll check with DH!

I have wellness insurance from my Vets office (I can only use them). It is $80/year for each cat. Free Unlimited claw clipping, 50% off on treatments and 2 free office visits per year. I actually make money on it.

                    Hi,

I'm not advising or discouraging you on this. I've never bought it for my cats, but I've been offered it. My little piece of advice is to ask about pre-existing conditions. I don't know if allergies would fall under this category or not, but sometimes insurance companies won't pay for such things, even in the human world!!!

I wish I'd gotten it for my 2 cats who developed CRF (chronic renal failure). It was so expensive for meds, supplies and vet bills. Who knows, if I'd gotten the insurance maybe they wouldn't have gotten CRF (isn't that the way it goes?)

I'm looking more for my dog than my cat. Cat isn't that expensive to treat. It just seems like there is always something going on with the dog.

There are so many limitations that insurance covers. DO read the fine print. For what my LAB had to see the VET for, it wouldn't have been covered. I never did buy the insurance.

I checked into it, then discovered my vet offered a discounted plan - all office visits, shots, spay, etc. for the first year paid up front saved 20%. I paid extra for an ear antibiotic and Heartguard, but thought it was better than the insurance plans I looked into.
