Actress Busy Philipps (Dawson's Creek) and her screenwriter husband, Marc Silverstein, have welcomed a baby girl, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

Birdie Leigh Silverstein was born Wednesday and weighed in at 9 lbs., 7 oz. She was 21 ½ inches long.



No wonder she wanted an unusual name, look at her's.

Birdie is an old southern name. I knew several ladies with that name years ago. Still don't like it though.

Some of those old names are strange. My Grandmother's name was Zula LaTish. Other Grandmother... Glenna Evelena....
Had an Great Aunt they named Willie Dudley...after three Daughters I reckon they wanted a Son real bad...LOL!

Rumer Willis says that she's been carrying her name around like a tumor her whole life – literally. The Demi-spawn tells the New York Post that kids in school would serenade her with, "Rumer, Rumer with a big hairy tumor." Meanwhile, sisters Scout and Tallulah had "cute nicknames" says Willis.

Which is more than can be said about their given names.

I had an Aunt "Birdie" too, or so I thought.........for years, and years as a kid I thought she was my Aunt "Birdie"........until I was older and came to find her birth name was Bertha. Then it dawned on me that here all along the grown ups were really calling her Aunt "Bertie", hehe!

I don't know these people, but the mother's name is "Busy" ?....as in "bizzy"? That's worse than Birdie.

I know, these names people call their kids these days are very strange. 30 years ago a friend of ours called her daughter January and, everyone then thought it sooo weird.I know of a family here in town that named their kids, Reed, Lake, Brooke, Willow, and Summer, not so odd now but still.......

and Busy isn't her real name. According to imdb, her real name is Elizabeth and her parents gave her the nickname Busy, because as an infant she was always moving.

I like family nicknames that the person likes enough to keep. For some reason, my Julia never calls herself Sweetpea or 'the pea' but that's what we called her until she was about 6 years old.

When I was in the 5th grade, we had a boy in our class named "A". He had a sister named "K" and a brother named "L". My dad once bought a car from a man named Everitt Everett. I sh*t you not.

TexAnn, those are some pretty wild names!! Zula LaTish sounds like one of those names you put together from the Captain Underpants books!! And, the Williie Dudley? Now that's just funny!!

My Dad is Woodrow Wilson the II, and I had a grandma named Vertie! Oh, and a cousin Rena Bell!
