Re: Does anyone else do this?
Yes I do. Don't like the extra blood on it. Pat it dry and then apply rub, etc.

Re: Does anyone else do this?
i always wash everything.
fruit vegetables, meat if possible.
I wash the ribs because i am scaredof little bone pieces that may be on it if they are sawed off.
I wash my new clothes before I wear them too...
wash new towels twice before i use them. ....
and sheets of course as well...

I would. You never know who was handling it or if it was dropped on the floor

Re: Does anyone else do this?
I like to wash meat off in general before I cook it to get the "extra" blood off that it's been sitting in. Also, just because it was packaged in Styrofoam along with the absorbent white plastic stuff at the bottom, and sometimes if the meat is near the expiration date, it starts to absorb that "packaged too long" smell and ultimately flavor in the meat. Call me odd, but that's just how I am with meat.

I always do, for no particular reason other than my Mom always did.

Does anyone else do this?
Am watching Aaron on foodnetwork this morning and he is making ribs. He washed them off first before putting on that rub that he uses. I never have washed pork off before cooking...are you suppose to? Maybe he washed it off to make the rub stick better to it????Tags: None
