  • REALLY ticked off...

We HAD an RCA 54" television...it blew. So we called RCA since it was only 2yrs old, they gave us the # of a local guy (about a 45min drive...not so local). He came, said he would have to take it with him to see what blew...that was 2 1/2 months ago. He keeps promising us the dang thing but then never shows!!! DH (not darling, if you know what I mean) cant find the recipt the guy gave him...

I called RCA today and BLASTED them...they said without a bill of sale or recipet it would take about a month to investigate it...WTH? ANOTHER MONTH? not to mention I could hardly understand the customer service guy...but thats another issue. I told the guy have amanager call me when you are ready to stand behind your products...

I am so mad at myself for letting the repair guy even take the TV in the first place! He's prob watching it in his living room right now...GRRRRRRRRRR

I'm Horrible At Keeping Receipts, I Throw Too Much Away. Dh Doesn't Throw Anything Away. If It's A Receipt We Need To Keep, Like On A Tv Or Whatever, I Just Give It To Him! But, That Said. I've Got A Ziplock Baggie In A Little Used Drawer Of "catch All" Stuff In The Kitchen, That I Put Important Receipts In, When I Remember/think To Do It.

My new Magnovox blew up. Cost me 90.00 to have a repairman tell me that the transformer blew and it would cost more to fix it than buy a new one. Called Magnovox, it was less than two years old, and the only thing the warranty *didn't* cover was the transformer. What a bunch of crap. Will never buy a Magnovox again.
Our 62 inch Sony big screen blew up the day after they installed it. During the Super Bowl, no less. Sears was out the next day with another brand new set. That thing is 15 years old now and still going.

This yahoo that took the TV in the first place was trying to sell us on Samsung...can you believe it? Didnt even have the TV out of the house and was trying to sell us a diff one???

Thanks for the info on magnavox...wont go there!

          Re: REALLY ticked off...

those big screens usually have to be picked up and hauled off.
we had ours repaired, paid 50 for them to transfere it to and from.

we have lost important reciepts too, yet we keep the ones for bread and milk

We had a problem too, tv was almost 4yrs old but we got it at Best Buy & got the insurance. We waited a month for a part, called Best Buy they tracked it and found out no one even ordered a part. So they gave us a credit (considering the 4yrs we had it) got a different brand and bigger tv. DH staples the receipts to the manuels and we put them in a filing cabinet. So glad the tv broke while we had the insurance. That coverage was up in Nov. Sunday's paper the TV was on sale, so we went back with receipt and they credited us the money. These big screens seem to break, I have bedroom tv's for yrs and no problem, they aren't even a well known brands.

              Re: REALLY ticked off...

all of this new high tecnnology crap is made cheap.

              tv's
              MP3's
              Ipods
cell phones are the worse, the more crap they have on them the cheaper they are made.
and the more they cost, and the more they are for repairs.

I always scan my important recipts now and save them on the computer otherwise they never are found when I need them.

                      Re: REALLY ticked off...

most people keep an accordian file to put reciepts in, this however is not me.
                      but most people do.

if i am not organized enough to put a reciept in an accordian file how will i have the time effot or umph to scan it and save it? lol

Actually, stapling it to the manual is the best idea. Unless you have a 'Canadian Tire' receipt. (the fellow Canadians on this board will understand) I swear that their receipts are written with disappearing ink!! A month after you buy something, the receipt has faded to illegibility. Scan the sucker the day you bring it home and staple BOTH the origional and the copy to the manual.

Ditto to that! Yep, that seviceman is probably sitting with his feet up enjoying a cold one watching ESPN right about now on your newly repaired TV. The creep.....
By the way, I don't save receipts either...probably should though...the idea of stapling receipt to warranty is a good idea...scanning is even better...except for that invisible Canadian ink...lol!
Have you made time to listen to the birds today........
