i get good housekeeping, fitness, and taste of home. Some how I had to subscriptions to Taste of Home, so I called them and they combined them. I know will be getting TOH until sometime in 2012.

I love to read, and I get several magazines via subscriptions. Much cheaper then buying them at the store. I get mine through a professional discount place because of SO's business, former business I should say, but they keep on sending us renewals which is fine with me. So let's see what I get:

Did I mention I like to read, LOL and that of course does not include the magazines that SO gets every month.
Reading newspaper or magazines on line just doesn't appeal to me at all. I have tried that, just isn't for me. I enjoy sitting down in the morning with my cup of coffee and read the morning paper. Or sit on my deck with my magazines , that's what I prefer to do. And if I were to depend on reading at the doctor office, I would be reading 2 year old issues of Field and Stream, no thank you. LOL

I have been subscribing to Bon Appetit since 1978, and am a sucker for renewing whenever they send an offer I can't refuse, even if I have a couple of years left on my subscription. The editors have changed the magazine so much within the past year that I am not renewing in 2010 when my subscription runs out. I used to get Readers' Digest and take them to work because I was able to read during "down time" during product testing, and the short articles were just the right length. There is still a stack of yellowed Dell crossword puzzle magazines from 1983 in the spare room upstairs. I subscribed so I could do puzzles on the train trip into downtown Chicago. Then I had kids.

I quit getting various womens' magazines over the years because the information was repetitive. How many times can I read "Walk off the Pounds"?

I got my family circle and woman's day magazines for $ 8.00 for a whole year each, can't beat that. If I can renew for that price I will renew if not, well,so be it, I won't.

Kraft foods.com will send you a free magazine or they used to. Haven't received one in a while. Pretty good ideas and recipes for free.
I get a Crochet magazine that I purchased through a fund raiser for #2 GS! Love it!

Nope I used to but got fed up with all the advertisements in them. Seems to be about 70% of it.

I read alot and so I started picking them up at the library. They send out magazines a month ahead when you have a subscription (I always hated how they pushed the next month on you). So the issue they have at the library to check out is actually the current month. Its kind of nice because I can get 4 or 5 magazines.

Edited to add-- I do get one subscription for each of my kids for Christmas. It is actually through a school fundraiser in which the school gets 50% of the subscription. It is too hard to hunt down magazines from them if I got them through the library.

Come to think of it, I haven't gotten a Kraft mag in quite a while. Wonder if they dropped them as a cost-cutting measure? You are right about the no. of ads. First thing I do is rip 'em out & toss 'em. One LHJournal was so thin, hubby almost tossed it. Thought it was a brochure! That's pitiful!

I signed up for the kraft magazine also, actually a couple of times, and I haven't received a magazine in about 6 month or so. I don't know why ??

I went to the Kraft site but it wouldn/t let me sign up for the mag again. Maybe it is due to arrive-I know they always have great fall recipes.
