We're just getting the higher winds and it has been raining non stop, but not bad. School has been closed for 3 days though and it really didn't need to but they didn't want the kids on the buses and just in case they needed the schools for shelters.
I'm off for three days and am just gonna sit home and enjoy the cooler weather. Haven't gotten through to my parents in Cocoa and my sister in Melbourne, I hope they are O.K. Hope everything is fine with you too. Michelle

Glad to hear you are ok. My DD SIL and GSS are at Disney and due to fly home today--do you think they will get out?

It’s really coming down and the wind is all over the place. It’s expected to go all day. Looks like rain is in the forecast for days. Melbourne, Patrick AFB (Satellite Beach), Cocoa all got hit bad. I hope your family is ok! Shelters are set up everywhere. The base firehouse had to evacuate yesterday and so many roads are closed they lost count! The power goes out and on over and over. DH drained Tuesday’s water out of the pool yesterday and now it is overflowing again.

The boys (pups) are not liking this for potty time either!

My DD SIL and GSS are at Disney and due to fly home today--do you think they will get out?

I know the Melbourne airport has cancelled all flights. I know I wouldn’t fly out in this, no way!

Thanks for the update Bean, I will try to call my family again. My mom doesn't get around very good and my dad is blind, but does better than she does when it comes to getting around. Stay safe and dry.

Post back when you get a hold of them. I know the phones were down in places yesterday and I'm sure they probably still are. Keeping your family in prayer!

They are comparing the rain from Fay to Hurricane Erin back in 95! We were evacuated for that one!

MDT333 / Bean, I have a friend who lives in Winter Haven. Is that close to where you live ? I been emailing her, and haven't heard back. I am concerned about her. She just lost her husband, and now this major storm.

WELL I AM ON THE WEST COAST, WEST OF GAINESVILLE, SO IT IS ON ITS WAY, THE RAIN I SAY, SCHOOLS NOT CLOSED HERE, MAYBE TOMORROW IF WINDS COME IN LIKE THEY SAY THEY ARE, who knows, they dont. this one has really messed with their minds.

I just saw on the local station that they are under flood watch. Have you heard from your friend?

I just got an email from her, she is fine. Less then 1" in 3 days, go figure. Now I have to google where Winter Haven is located in Florida. Thanks for asking.
