my dd's first day of college was a few days ago..she said she saw a women who appeared to be in her 50's wearing shorts that showed off her butt cheeks..and her blouse that was super tight..this traumatized her a little..since she came from a school with dress codes..all i can do was laugh..

It's been awhile since I was in college, but some of the clothes these girls and guys wear!! Yes. I agree, they should have a dress code. They are adults in college, going to school to get a good job. That job will have a dress code. they need to follow it now!

I've heard all about the college way of dressing from my 3 over the years. The thing that got me was when they said it was nothing at all for students to roll right out of bed and head to their early morning classes still in their pajamas!!!!!!! That just floored me!!!! But, I guess the faculty members can't really enforce what isn't written in school policy??!!!! Amazing!!!

Two of mine went to state colleges and one went to a private college and it seemed to be the same at both types. However, they did have a friend who went to George Washington University in Washington, DC for undergrad, which is a very prestigious college. She said they HAD to dress up in business-like attire EVERY day without fail.....maybe that's because most of the student there all went to private schools before college?? She said she was one of the few who actually attended "public" schools.

I remember staring at a girl (in college) very pregnant. She was wearing blue jeans completely unzipped to accommodate her belly!
I frequent a cosmetology college for their discount services. I am sometimes grossed out by the students nose rings, belly rings, tattoos, pit hair, and attire.

I have to agree with your DD. I think it should cover everyone though. Not just us older folks! Some of the clothes those kids wear now. I would not allow my daughter out of her room with some of that stuff on and certainly not out of the house! OMG!

It saddens me how trashy some of the young girls look. They think they look cute and stylish and they could not be more wrong.

I saw one guy yesterday that you knew was total goth, but the dude had a kilt on!!!! I couldn't figure out the connection! Maybe he was getting in touch with his Scottish side??
