How to cook pepper steak?

I'm not sure what cut of beef they are, they are long and really thin. I got about 10 of them in my beef package. I broiled one last night. It was okay, but nothing to write home about.
(I don't have a grill.)

Oh, and what is the difference between a strip steak and a Kansas City strip steak? I have about 10 of each...
