      Re: Flour/sugar containers

I used to, but not now. It's just the two of us. Very seldom bake. So I buy small amounts of sugar and flour and keep them in the original paperbag and put that in a giant size plastic ziplock bag to keep moisture and bugs out. Works fine for me. But I don't think it would work if you store large amount of flour, sugar etc. My girlfriend keeps her flour in the freezer ??

My Mom used to do a lot of bread baking and she would keep her flour in a big plastic bucket. I don't remember it being washed...

I don't wash mine until it starts getting grimy on the outside. Nothing dirty ever get inside of the container, so it stays clean.

Anytime I need to refill it I pop it in the dishwasher. Having a big family it is usually every 2 weeks. But my containers are glass, so I cant stand to have dirty fingerprints on them anyhow.

Same as muzette - when empty, in the dishwasher it goes.
